The Dark Knight Rises French premiere in Paris has been cancelled after a man hurled a tear gas bomb and then opened fire during a midnight screening of Dark Knight Rises, near Denver, Colorado.
Up to 12 people have been confirmed dead after the tragic incident and Warner Bros. have now taken the decision to pull the red carpet event due to take place this Friday evening.
"Warner Bros. is deeply saddened to learn about this shocking incident," the studio said in a statement. "We extend our sincere sympathies to the families and loved ones of the victims at this tragic time."

Press interviews with director Christopher Nolan and cast members such as Anne Hathaway, Christian Bale and Tom Hardy have also been cancelled, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
A Daily Mail journalist, who was in Paris to interview the cast, tweeted:
Nolan and the cast have not yet commented in the French press about the shooting which took place as the trailers for the film ended during a screening at the Century 16 Theatre in Aurora.
However, a source told The Telegraph:"They are all in a state of shock – absolutely devastated."
