Cuban Bartenders Mix The World's Largest Daiquiri (PICTURES)

Could You Down One Of These?

Anyone fancy a nice long drink? Staff at the El Floridita tavern in Old Havana, Cuba, made cocktail history at the weekend by creating the world's largest daiquiri cocktail.

Ten bartenders and 55 volunteers helped mix up the rum, lemon and sugar cocktail - while two dedicated waiters stood on a wooden platform and poured all 270 litres into a 6.5ft tall glass. (It's a tough job, but somebody had to do it. Apparently.)

And the reasons behind the record attempt? It was actually a double celebration to mark the bar's 195th anniversary - plus what would have been the 113th birthday of its most famous former customer, writer Ernest Hemingway.

Ah, we're sure it's what he would have wanted...
