It was the fourth annual Latin American Clown Congress and all the necessary ingredients were present and correct.

Roses, floppy shoes, spinning bowties and buckets of face paint were in abundance. As were the masters of the magic – an army of clowns.

Strangely nearly every single one wore a grimace at the event, which encourages performers to exchange ideas and attend workshops.

With the clowns seemingly unable to turn those frowns upside down, what should have been a silly event seemed to have taken a turn for the sinister...
