One of the busiest railway stations in London will be closed to many departing passengers on Monday evening due to the Olympics.
A potential clash between commuters leaving London Bridge and Olympic supporters arriving there has led to platforms one to six being exit only between 6pm and 10pm on Monday.
Passengers on services run by the First Capital Connect (FCC) and Southeastern train companies leave from these platforms for destinations including Brighton.
Services run by the Southern train company from platforms 8-16 are not affected.
FCC is urging affected passengers to board trains at Blackfriars station, a 16-minute walk away, or nearby City Thameslink station.
FCC customer service director Keith Jipps said: "London Bridge is best avoided throughout the Olympics because it will be exceptionally busy but on Monday evening our customers will not be able to get on to the platforms we use."
The first full day of Olympic events meant roads and public transport were busy today, particularly with the cycling in London and Surrey.
London's Transport Commissioner Peter Hendy said: "Last night, all transport serving the spectacular opening ceremony ran well, getting everyone to the Olympic Park on time and home again.
"Today will see hundreds of thousands travelling across the capital as the first Olympic events get under way."
He went on: "The roads in south west London and Surrey will be exceptionally busy, with a large number of temporary road closures for the cycling road races today and tomorrow.
"Public transport will also be exceptionally busy today as people make their way to watch the cycling road race and to other venues."
During the Games, up to one million extra visitors are expected in London every day, making an additional three million journeys over and above the usual 12 million daily journeys on public transport.
