While the most successful paperback of all time is spanking the competition, with book lovers choosing porn over Potter, not everyone is happy by the success of Fifty Shades of Grey.

Sophie Morgan, author of The Diary of a Submissive (published August 30th) believes that the taboo-busting book is riddled with misconceptions about BDSM (Bondage and Discipline, Sadism and Masochism).

"Fifty Shades of Grey has encouraged thousands of women to spice up their love lives and talk honestly about their fantasies and things they want to try - which can only be a positive thing," Morgan told HuffPost Lifestyle.

"However, the book has done little to remove the misconception that submissives are doormats or throwbacks to a pre-feminist age, and as someone who self-defines as ‘submissive’ that makes me grumpy."

If you're one of the two million women hooked on the book and considering spicing up your love life with bondage role play, take a look at these 'Fifty Shades of Lies' by Sophie Morgan.
