Team GB Appear In Goldie Street Art Exhibition (PICTURES)

Goldie On Gold: DJ Immortalises Team GB In Street Art

With a name like Goldie, you'd expect the DJ-come-artist to be getting involved in the Olympics. So it's hardly surprising that the household stars of Team GB have been the muses for his new exhibition, opening Friday.

However, what we didn't expect was for the work to capture the energy and athleticism of Great Britain's top sporting stars.

Goldie, who has been creating street art since the 80s, has represented the likes of cyclist Victoria Pendleton, triple-jumper Phillips Idowu and weightlifter Zoe Smith in a new way to their usual portraits. He says the exhibition of the portraits depicts the "rawness of their talent in a light in which they are rarely seen."

Check out some of the portraits below, and you can see them on canvas at the The Cumberland hotel until 12 August.
