David Cameron In Wales During Sport Tour

PM Goes To Wales

Prime Minister David Cameron goes to Wales on Tuesday as part of an ongoing tour of sporting facilities in regions around the UK.

Visits to Scotland and Northern Ireland have already taken place within the last week.

Mr Cameron threw his weight behind Glasgow's bid to host the 2018 Youth Olympics during a visit to Scotland.

"Whilst the Youth Olympics may not turn every child into tomorrow's Chris Hoy or Hannah Miley, I am convinced that if we can bring the Games to the UK, we will help even more young people develop a sporting habit for life," he said during the visit.

While in Glasgow he also met young people taking part in an athletics summer school programme attracting 100 sporting hopefuls.

The Prime Minister has also travelled to Coleraine, Northern Ireland, as part of the same regional tour.

He visited Bann Rowing Club where medal-winning brothers Richard and Peter Chambers and Alan Campbell all trained.

Mr Cameron's tour continues today with a visit to sporting facilities, and youngsters using them, in mid Wales.
