Nokia Turns Festival Crowd Into Massive LED Display With Radio-Controlled Wristbands

WATCH: Festival Crowd Turned Into Massive LED Display

Nokia has turned a festival audience into a massive LED display with the use of 8,000 radio-controlled wristbands.

At its Lumia Live showcase during the recent Tramlines festival, Nokia handed out 8,000 of the 'Xylobands' and let the audience do the rest.

During Revered and the Makers' 'Silence Is Talking' the bands lit up in a coordinated blast of colour - and created a pretty amazing effect when they did.

The lights were first seen on Coldplay's Mylo Xyloto tour, but this was the first time they'd been seen at an outdoor music festival.

Jason Regler, the inventor of Xylobands said, "it was amazing to once again see how well the bands worked in an outdoor venue and how they enhanced the festival experience.

"The unity and positive energy is overwhelming at times, with the Xylobands almost controlling the atmosphere."

Take a look at how the effect looked in the video, above.
