Grieving Gary Barlow Set To Perform At Olympics Closing Ceremony

Grieving Gary Barlow is set to put on a brave face after his baby daughter was delivered stillborn by performing with Take That at Sunday night's Olympics closing ceremony.

The brave singer is said to be putting aside his heartbreak to be with his bandmates during the star-studded event.

A source told The Sun: "Gary is going through a terrible time. The last week has been awful - as everyone can understand.

"The band have been there for him and totally understand if he doesn't do the gig, Take That are on the running order and the organisers are prepared for all eventualities, but they all know Gary will be determined to perform. They haven't rehearsed this week for obvious reasons but they are professionals and can turn it on under pressure. It will be a tough call for Gary but everyone will back his decision."

The Take That star's wife Dawn delivered Poppy last Saturday, but the baby girl sadly did not survive.

Gary said in a statement: "Poppy Barlow was delivered stillborn on August 4th in London. Our focus now is giving her a beautiful funeral and loving our three children with all our hearts. We'd ask at this painful time that our privacy be respected."

The band are due to perform Greatest Day, while George Michael will sing Faith and Freedom, and the Spice Girls will stage a medley of their hits.

Sir Paul McCartney, Ray Davies from The Kinks and Liam Gallagher will also perform.

Musical director David Arnold said: "If the opening ceremony was the wedding, this will be the wedding reception."
