Inspired by Adele's hit single Rolling in the deep, German photographer Geraldine Lamanna has created a beautiful Powder Dance series.

Set against a black back drop, the photographer has captured the dancers' movement - and the song's powerful lyrics - by using white powder.

Speaking to The Huffington Post, she said: "I’ve always been intrigued by the beauty of dance, and wanted to catch its essence in photos, but felt that frozen images wouldn’t do justice to the emotional elegance of dance movements. Then I saw the music video of Adele’s Rolling In The Deep. The idea to use powder for my dance shoot, to create an echo of the movement, was born."

Ms Lamanna took time to thank those who had worked with her on the project.

"I was glad that Olivia Maciejowski - a great dance artist and teacher, living nearby in south Germany - agreed to contribute her talent, together with two of her best dancing students, Birgit Kallweit and Sandra Chanthalangsy, to this project; an amazingly diverse and inspiring group of people.

"To me the greatest compliment is that the mother of one dancer teared up when she first saw the final pictures."

See the beautiful pictures below. Do you think they do Adele's song justice?
