Wayne Rooney And Robin Van Persie Referred As 'Fatman And Robin' By Dutch Newspaper

'Fatman And Robin' - Dutch Paper Hails New United Strike Partnerhsip

Robin van Persie's imminent transfer to Manchester United has compelled bitter Arsenal fans and jokers to refer to his new strike partnership with Wayne Rooney as "Fatman and Robin", while one Dutch newspaper has even adopted the new nickname as a headline.

De Telegraaf have opted for some easy humour on their sport website to poke fun at England striker Rooney's bulky frame ahead of the United striker teaming up with his new partner in crime.

Sir Alex Ferguson's recent assertion Rooney was "stocky" hasn't quelled mickey-taking at the expense of the Croxteth-born forward, often referred to as a "fat granny s*****r" by opposition supporters.

Gooners last season had a banner which read "We don't need Batman... we've got Robin." Which Dark Knight will rise for seven-years-trophyless Arsenal this season?
