Tom Daley has admitted he's too embarrassed to ask Cheryl Cole out on a date because he reckons she'd turn him down.
The Olympic bronze-medallist diver - who has a calendar of Chezza on his bedroom wall - received a series of tweets from the Girls Aloud star during the London 2012 Games, including one in which she asked for a private tutorial on how to perform a swan dive.
"We're trying to organise a dive," he told Heat magazine. "Which would be pretty cool. I think it's just trying to sort out a time and a place."
And when asked what he thought his chances of getting closer to Cheryl were, he said: "I haven't got a hope in hell! It'll be cool to finally get to meet her and to teach her how to dive.
"It'll just be embarrassing [if I ask her out], it's not gonna work out. I wish I did have the courage [to ask her out].
"I've got her calendar on my wall, so I'm used to seeing her [half naked] and I see divers [half naked] every day, although... it is Cheryl."

But even a kiss from Cheryl comes second to an Olympic medal for Tom.
When asked which he would choose, he said: "I'm sorry, it has to be the medal. I've worked ten years for that, but Cheryl has only been on my mind the last two or three."
