Tottenham Hotspur have finally agreed to sell Luka Modrić to Real Madrid for around £30m and have also struck a "partnership agreement" with the Spanish champions.
Modrić, who made 160 appearances and scored 17 goals for Spurs in four years after a £16.5m transfer from Dinamo Zagreb, has made no secret of his desire to leave White Hart Lane a year after he was eager to move to Chelsea.
He will travel to the Spanish capital on Monday for a medical ahead of signing a five-year contract.
Spurs' new collaboration with Los Blancos meanwhile "will see the two Clubs working together in respect of players, coaching, best practices and commercial relationships".
Daniel Levy, Tottenham's chairman, commented on the club's official website: "Whilst we preferred not to part with Luka, we are pleased that it is to Real Madrid, a club with which we now look forward to sharing a long and productive partnership."
Tottenham have taken just one point from their opening two games of the season - both of which Modrić was absent from - while Madrid lost 2-1 away to Getafe on Sunday night.
