Channel 4 'Cutting Ties With Controversial Comic Boyle'

Frankie Boyle is unlikely to find work again at Channel 4, reports the Daily Mail.

Channel 4 is believed to be unhappy with the controversial comic's tweets about the Paralympics, for which they are the host broadcaster.

Frankie Boyle appears to have got on the wrong side of Channel 4 with his remarks

The Daily Mail quotes an insider saying the comments "were not in consistent with the mood of the nation, and would not have pleased bosses". (Read more here...)

Yesterday, Channel 4 said publicly that "the comments had been made in a personal capacity and not on behalf of the channel".

This reaction comes after Boyle, who has often waded into controversial waters with his remarks, took to Twitter during the opening ceremony of the Paralympics.

Among his comments, the comedian joked that the Saudi Arabian team at the competition are "mainly thieves", referring to how some criminals have had their hands removed for stealing.

In another message, he said: "I'm going down to the blind football to shout that the referee's a deaf bastard."
