Cher Lloyd Takes America's 'The Today Show' By Storm As 'Want You Back' Sells 1m US Copies (PICS)

Cher's Stateside Fame Reaches New Levels

Aside from seeing celebs like Chelsee Healey getting off their faces, there's nothing more we like to see here at HuffPost Celeb than our own doing well over the pond.

And things really are going from strength to strength for Cher Lloyd who has two reasons to celebrate her US success today.

Not only has it just been revealed her debut single over there, Want You Back, has gone Platinum after selling over one million copies, she's also riding high after performing on one of their most prestigious TV shows.

Cher smashed her way through a performance on prime-time morning show The Today Show yesterday - something which also helped propel One Direction to new levels of fame when they performed on there back in March.

It was trailed as a crucial moment for the star in her quest for long term success Stateside, but critics were more than impressed with her efforts.

As she sang Want You Back to a packed crowd outside New York's Rockefeller Center, it was a million miles away from the taunts she received at V Festival in Essex earlier this month.

Earlier this week, Cher announced she was launching her own fragrance, Pink Diamond, which has proved to be a hit with fans as sales are up more than 500% on expected figures.
