Cheryl Cole To Make Sneaky X Factor Return?

Cheryl For X Factor Return?

Cheryl Cole is set to make a triumphant return to The X Factor to help mentor Gary Barlow's contestants.

Cheryl will once again be gracing our screens on a Saturday night as Gary is apparently in discussions to get the Geordie singer back on the show, and all behind boss Simon Cowell's back.

Gary had convinced Simon he was planning to invite his on-off Take That bandmate Robbie Williams to join him during the judge's house stage, but was all along planning to take Cheryl, reports The Sun.

A source told the newspaper: "They're all under the impression it's going to be Robbie. No one even noticed the dates for the recording clash with Robbie's new solo tour."

Gary and Cheryl famously performed together at the Diamond Jubilee concert

Gary and Cheryl apparently hatched the plan after they performed a duet of Lady Antebellum's Need You Now at the Diamond Jubilee concert at Buckingham Palace in June.

The pair are old friends and first met when they climbed Mount Kilimanjaro together as part of a celebrity team for Comic Relief in 2009, but Gary might have just felt like he had to up the ante when he found out who all the other judges are having as mentors.

Nicole Scherzinger is set to team up with Ne-Yo, while Tulisa is enlisting the help of Tinie Tempah.

Louis Walsh has even managed to convince Sharon Osbourne to get involved with selecting his contestants.
