Ever checked into a hotel and realised you've forgotten to bring a ferret? No problem! You'd just call room service to bring you one right up, wouldn't you?
Believe it or not, a guest at a Best Western hotel did call down to reception and ask for a ferret - the problem being that he was due to attend a small animals show, and didn't want to turn up unaccompanied. (Incidentally, that's why we always pack a guinea pig when we're travelling. You know? Just in case.)
Anyway, it turns out this is just one of many, many strange demands put to the hotel chain by guests over the years. A newly released list of bizarre requests also includes: fake tan remover; an extra bed for a doll; hair-combing assistance; a place at breakfast for a religious statue; and a room with a sea view.
But, we hear you cry, what's wrong with asking for a sea view? Nothing at all - if you're anywhere near the seaside. But the guest in question was staying in Birmingham - which, as you're doubtless aware, is around 80 miles from the coast.
Hmmm... we can't help wondering if the scene played out something like this...
