Veteran Newspaperman And Broadcaster Dies Aged 82

The former newspaper editor, who became a permanent fixture on BBC Radio, passed away after suffering a heart attack at his home.

Jameson edited the Daily Express, the Daily Star and the News of the World and was also managing editor of the Daily Mirror.

He broadcast a daily breakfast show on BBC Radio 2, hosted a chat show and fronted popular TV programme Do They Mean Us?

Following his retirement, he wrote a regular column for the Brighton Argus until 2000.

In 2010 he took part in BBC programme The Young Ones, in which six elderly celebrities took on the challenges of ageing by sharing a house and taking up hobbies and tasks they had let drop.
