A video has emerged on the internet of a university's fresher welcome video... from 1972.
The video was made by the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, which was amalgamated with another institution to make up Manchester University.
One of the events portrayed in the video is the student Rag Week.
"There are other bizarre events designed to attract crowds and raise money," the voiceover says, adding: "Street plays, the five-legged race, and the annual battle of the presidents between two unions. The ammunition is canteen waste.
"Plenty of fun and all in a good cause."
We've put together a "then and now" gallery for you - and don't forget to watch the video.
UEA Rugby Team disbanded
The university's rugby team was shut down after players allegedly dressed up as Ku Klux Klan extremists and late Wales manager Gary Speed for a boozy party.
