In the European Parliament, with better pay and expenses
No one to answer to, no responsibilities
Where independent audit reports of the Parliament are not accepted and simply ignored
Where his wife will feel more at home and he can indulge his polyglot talents
Truth is he never REALLY wanted this amount of power
He and his party were totally unprepared for it
Just their luck it took the Labour party's (aided and abetted by the bankers) decimation of the economy
To allow them into Government, a poisoned chalice they could have done without
But they were frightened to decline the offer of coalition with the Tories
As they knew they would only EVER get a single chance to be at the top of the heap
And they had to take that chance when it arose
Well the chance came, they blew it as they knew they would
And, post the next election, they will settle back into the comfortable wilderness of yesteryear
Slightly battered and bruised, less in numbers but at peace again

I hope not wait until the next GE polling stations have closed." Pledgy Cleggy" would have lost his Sheffield seat and the Liberals would have suffered a nightmare GE. But seriously if the once proud Liberals are to survive and prosper Clegg must go now and sooner the better for us all.

There's a whole generation of students who they have betrayed.....they wont forget and this will be reflected in the way they vote for the next 60 years.

They won't get rid of him. If they did they would not have a deputy PM who is Lib Dem cos Cameron would give that job to a tory. Then again Danny Alexander seems to be the bluest Lib Dem and more tory than some tories.

I really don't care and can only hope the lot of them are history before I snuff it.

The entire LibDem party is facing the axe at the next election, their credibillity has been destroyed and i think the electorate will exact redress for their lies.

Three subjects in three days we have not been allowed to discuss. It is very like te kind of censorship one would have expected in Stalinist Russia, not modern day Britain. Of ourse this will not be published either.

What the liberals agreed to was power: power at any price, and not worry about silly little things like principles, and beliefs. If anyone is unsure about that, how is it that the same liberals are fully prepared to enter into coalition with labour?

Clegg saw an opportunity,and he took it. The opportunity no liberal leader has had for a century. and having seen what they have done in the two and a half years they have had some power, not even full power, can anyone wonder that they have been kept in the cold for 100 years.

The tories and labour are at least in theory worlds apart in their principles and beliefs, yet the liberals find no problem in turning themselves inside out, and able to form a coalition with either of them. It just is not possible to anyone with any ethics at all.

Now it seems that Clegg may lose his job over it, and therefore no longer be deputy PM. His whole party may be decimated at the next G.Election. All because they sold their souls for a taste of power. Reminds me of the Spanish proverb. Take what you want said God. Take it, and pay for it.

It won't matter who is leader as the Libdems are history....they say people have short memories, but not on this occasion they haven't.

I would not trust any single lib/dem. They all agreed on the coalition pact, now they can all loose thier seats and disapear forever.

Replacing the leader won't undo all the damage Clegg has caused to the party.The proof of the pudding will be in the next GE when it will show the party are finished.
