Oh! we do like to be beside the seaside we do like to be beside the sea! we do like to stroll upon the Prom, Prom, Prom! Where the brass bands play: "Tiddely-om-pom-pom!" So just let us be beside the seaside, we'll be beside ourselves with glee.
Liberal Democrats are gathering in Brighton for their third annual conference since joining with the Conservatives in coalition, we had nothing better to do so decided to follow them there.
Follow (occasional) live updates of what is going on:
Nick Clegg has given his keynote conference speech and in it he set out what will be his message to voters between now and 2015. Only the Lib Dems will look both the economy and poor people.
"Are you ready to trust Labour with your money again?" he said. "And do you really think the Tories will make Britain fairer?"Because the truth is, only the Liberal Democrats can be trusted on the economy and relied upon to deliver a fairer society too."

Undercover research (asking the guy who runs the stall) has revealed that the second most popular item at the gift shop this year, behind 'I'm Sorry' mugs, are these 'I'm a PLEB' badges.
Luckily they appear to have quite a lot in stock and a buzzing production line pumping out new ones as quick as they can sell them.

Former Lib Dem leader Lord Ashdown has told party activists to ignore the press and the polls and just get on with the job of being in government.
A lot of his (good natured) irritation with the media appears to be directed at The Guardian. He did not like being refereed a "strangely sexually alluring walnut".
Danny Alexander is conducting a Q&A in the conference hall this afternoon. A poll published today showed he was a favourite among Tory MPs, not a stat that will go down well with the Lib Dem grassroots.
One delegate even said hew as "more right wing than George Osborne". Which could mean he is in for a rough ride.
The conference gift shop has sold out of Nick Clegg 'Sorry' mugs. Before we had a chance to make a bulk order. Damn.

Senior Lib Dems are telling their activists and MPs that the party will stay in coalition for the long haul, until 2015.
But that has not stopped them laying into the right-wing Tory backbenches. In his speech yesterday Nick Clegg said the country did not want a "turbo-charged" right wing agenda. While other senior figures have made similar attacks on David Cameron's right wing.

We are kicking off our conference coverage with our interview with Lib Dem deputy leader Simon Hughes.
Hughes speaks about a wide range of issues including why the party will be in it with the Tories until the end (2015), as well as the tuition fees mistake and his own leadership ambitions.
You can read Mehdi Hasan's interview in full here.
Having negotiated our way past the G4S security guards outside the conference centre it's time to kick off our rolling live blog of the conference season.
The Lib Dem conference is taking place in the Brighton Centre and the Grant Hotel on the seafront (nice views, watch out for the seagulls) and it kicks of properly with a rally led by Nick Clegg.
More importantly the party are seeking to capitalise on their leader's new found musical fame by selling Nick Clegg 'I'm Sorry' mugs. We'll take two.
