This weekend saw the long-awaited World Custard Pie Championship take place in Coxheath, Kent. Sixteen teams of single-minded flan-chuckers lined up against one another outside The Stile Bridge pub, having travelled from all corners of the UK to take part.

Among the participants were Rory McGrath and Will Mellor (from off the telly). But despite the presence of such illustrious celebrities, the winners' trophy went to local favourites Pie of the Tiger, who triumphed over a bunch of bananas in the final showdown.
