Chris Bryant 'Warmly Welcomes' Extradition Of Men Sadiq Khan Fights To Keep In Britain

What's The Difference Between Chris Bryant And Sadiq Khan?

It's not like Labour MPs to go off message.

Which is why we were so surprised when shadow immigration minister Chris Bryant's statement "warmly welcoming" the European Court of Human Right's decision to green light the extradition of Abu Hamza and four others was totally contradicted by former boss Sadiq Khan just a few hours later.

The shadow Justice secretary is the MP for two of the men caught up in the judgement, terror suspects Talha Ahsan and Babar Ahmad, and has campaigned for the two to be tried in Britain.

On message: Chris Bryant and Sadiq Khan

“Both Babar Ahmad and Syed Talha Ahsan are British-born Tooting residents, and as their Member of Parliament I have made numerous efforts to have the evidence against them reconsidered by the British authorities and a trial held in Britain," Khan said, in sharp contrast to Bryant's "these dangerous men have remained on British soil too long, and I am glad that they will finally face deportation from our shores."

Bryant is now the shadow immigration minister But we're sure the two men really miss working together on the shadow justice team.
