Manchester City Fans Horrendously Treated By Madrid Police (VIDEO)

WATCH: City Fans' Horrendous Treatment At Hands Of Spanish police

Manchester City fans have become the latest English contingent to be subjected to unprovoked outbursts of violence from authorities on the continent, after footage emerged of Madrid riot police baton-charging certain supporters.

City, who played Real Madrid in their opening Champions League fixture last week, took 4,000 fans to the Spanish capital and sadly - yet inevitably - bore the brunt of overzealous riot police.

The footage has already been widely condemned by several figures within the footballing community, but is an all-too-regular sight for English supporters in Europe.

Manchester United, Liverpool, Middlesbrough and Chelsea fans have all experienced shocking levels of violence in Rome alone this century, whilst the aforementioned clubs' followers - and those of other British clubs - have become embroiled in flashpoints off the pitch.
