Samsung has fixed a security hole in which its flagship phones were able to be wiped with a single click.
On Tuesday it was discovered that by linking a specific link in a browser, users of a number of Samsung Android devices could have their devices reset to factory settings.
The vulnerability affected various devices with Samsung's TouchWiz UI, including the Galaxy SIII, SII and the Galaxy S Advance.
But now Samsung says a fix has been issued - at least for its SIII customers.
It said in a statement:
We would like to assure our customers that the recent security issue concerning the GALAXY S III has already been resolved through a software update. We recommend all GALAXY S III customers to download the latest software update, which can be done quickly and easily via the Over-The-Air (OTA) service.
Samsung has not made clear if fixes for its older devices are included in the update.
All users should update to avoid wiping their phones.
