Who Should Be HuffPost's Poetry Day Champion? Vote Now!

Vote In Our Online Poetry Slam

UPDATE: Your winner at the end of National Poetry Day, with 42.5% of the vote, was James Bunting. Expect to see more from James on Huffington Post Culture soon...

For the past 12 months HuffPost Culture has been going to spoken word poetry nights and asking the best performers we see to come in and record an original piece for us.

Thankfully many have agreed, and as a result our spoken word section is full of recordings of poets from around the country doing their thing.

As it's National Poetry Day, we thought it'd be fun to round up a random five of these videos and conduct an 'online slam' in which you can not only enjoy the poems, but vote for your favourite at the bottom.

The winner will be crowned HuffPost Culture's Poetry Day Champion, a title that carries nothing in the way of reward beyond the warm glow of public approval and an invitation to come back in record a new poem.

So sit back, put your feet up and enjoy 10 minutes or so of brilliant poetry before casting your vote
