Talking about James Arthur, who is also in Nicole Scherzinger's Boys category, the Essex dance music fan said: "James gets the marriage proposals and I get the death threats, it's a nice little combo."
And he added: "We live together, we are like a married couple, we row all the time, we don't have sex and I clean up after him. We love it."
Rylan revealed that the threats made to him via Twitter have affected him, but his beautiful Pussycat Doll mentor has been helping him deal with his newfound fame: "I've had a tough time in the press and on Twitter, it did get to me, but me and Nicole had a great chat the other night and she believes in me…
"I've got probably more to prove than anyone in the competition on Saturday night."
Nicole, speaking at ITV's headquarters, told The Huffington Post UK: "I told Rylan I live through it every day when I wake up, do not read the press, it does not define you and most of the stuff is not even true.
"For me the way I get through it is, I know who I am, I know what I have to give, everyone else is just hog-washing, they don't know what they are talking about, they're just uneducated and we're here to educate them and spread the love."
