Boris Johnson Refuses To Rule Out Running For US President

Not content with fuelling rumours that he wants to succeed David Cameron as prime minister, Boris Johnson has refused to rule out running for president of the United States.

Appearing on the BBC's Daily Politics programme from the Conservative conference in Birmingham on Tuesday, the American born of London mayor was asked by Andrew Neil whether he would like to run for the White House after he had led Britain for a few years.

"Andrew this is now getting beyond satire," he said. "My chances of becoming prime minister are, as I always say, the same as being reincarnated as an olive."

"My chances of being president after being prime minister are, I think, no better than yours. Probably considerably worse."

A non-denial denial. With only 1491 days until Election Day, 2016, Boris better get his campaign team in place pretty sharpish.
