X Factor James Arthur Suffers Panic Attack After Live Show

X Factor contestant James Arthur pledged to continue with Sunday's show despite an ambulance being called last night after he suffered a panic attack following his performance.

Show bosses summoned paramedics due to fears about his health from the incident after he sang Mary J Blige's No More Drama.

But he said today there was "no way" he would miss the ITV1 programme on Sunday.

Arthur did not need to be taken to hospital after the medical crew decided there was no need. He went to his hotel to rest and was in good spirit this morning, but he has been told to take it easy and doctors will continue to monitor him.

He said: "I had an anxiety attack last night, maybe because I gave everything I had to my performance.

"I feel loads better this morning after a good night's sleep and I'm looking forward to tonight's show - there's no way I am missing it."

An X Factor spokesman said: "An ambulance was called as a precaution but he was not taken to hospital and he will appear on Sunday's show.

"The welfare of contestants is our key priority and we work with them to provide any support that is needed."
