Headteacher Showed Violent Video Clip To Children As Young As Seven In Assembly

A headmaster has reportedly quit his role after he played a clip of a violent Chuck Norris kung-fu film to children as young as seven during an assembly.

The Sun reports that mums and dads of children at St George's Junior School in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, complained after pupils were left terrified by the movie scenes.

Mr Norton was suspended by his bosses when the allegations came to light, and later resigned, just six months into his position.

The spoof film - 5 Rules in Every Chuck Norris Movie - shows the martial arts actor spraying bullets and landing karate chops, as well as killings and gun fights.

One furious parent told the Sun that Mr Norton's decision to show the extract from the film was 'worrying', saying "What did he think he was running - an army camp? He must be on another planet if he thinks it is acceptable. With all the violence going on in the world today, this is very worrying."

The head is said to have played the three minute long YouTube clip to around 350 children three weeks ago.

In a joint statement, Shropshire Council and the school's governors confirmed that Mr Norton had resigned from the school.

Mr Norton has not made any comment on the allegations or his resignation.
