Wayne Rooney Endorses Barack Obama

Could this be the defining moment for Barack Obama's re-election campaign?

The president has won the backing of none other than Wayne Rooney.

The Manchester United and England striker, not previously known for his political interventions, said that having watched the three debates between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, he thought the president should be given four more years.

No wonder Man U are not winning the league, their star player keeps staying up until 3.30am to watch C-SPAN.

With the polls narrowing and the election result on a knife edge Obama can probably do with as much support as he can get.

Although it is not clear how many of Rooney's 5,249,345 followers are actually able to vote in American elections, the Democrats may well be hoping at least a few of them live in Ohio.
