Rupert Murdoch Tweets Fears Over Obama Election Victory Urging Republican Governor To Reaffirm Support For Romney

Murdoch Tweets Fears Of Obama Victory In Blunt Style

With three days to go until the US election, media mogul Rupert Murdoch has thrown in his two pennies’ worth in typically blunt style – tweeting that republican governor Chris Christie will take the blame for “the next four dire years” unless he re-declares for Mitt Romney.

The scolding message came after Christie, the influential governor of New Jersey, appeared to warm to President Barack Obama in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy.

The pair toured New Jersey in the presidential helicopter to see the devastating effects of the storm and to the surprise of many, got along famously.

Republican Chris Christie got along very well with Obama in the wake of the storm

He said: “I cannot thank the president enough for his personal concern and compassion for our state. The president has been all over this, and he deserves great credit.”

Then, when he was asked if Romney would be coming to the area he said curtly that he “had no idea” and wasn’t “the least bit interested”.

Clearly all this has riled the News Corp CEO, whose tweet read: “Christie, while thanking O, must re-declare for Romney, or take blame for next four dire years.”

It remains to be seen whether Christie will respond to Murdoch’s admonishment, as he recently stated that doesn’t currently care about presidential politics.

Polls show that the election result is just too close to call, but many commenters believe that Obama may have benefitted from showing strong leadership in the aftermath of the storm.

The devastation was such that both candidates suspended their campaigning, but Obama assuming his role as commander-in-chief may just give him the edge.
