Japanese Photo Booth Prints Tiny 3D Models Of Customers (PICTURES)

A Japanese 'photo booth' is offering customers the chance to print out tiny 3D models of themselves.

The custom business is to open for a limited period at the Eye of Gyre exhibition space in Harajuku, Tokyo.

Until January 14 you can make a reservation to have your portrait taken, only instead of a photograph you get a small model of your complete self.

The little figures are printed with 3D printers, and are spectacular in the detail and colouring they capture.

The models aren't cheap - a large is about £330, and measures 20cm tall. A small (10cm) costs about half that.

Still, forget the money - this is clearly the best use of 3D printing ever devised. It's better than that guy who tried to build a gun with one, anyway.
