The Royal couple have yet to visit Cambridge

Today Clarence House issued a statement confirming November 28 "will mark the royal couple's first official joint visit to Cambridgeshire as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge".

The couple will undertake a series of engagements including visiting the city's Guildhall and the Senate House, University of Cambridge, where they will attend a reception for about 400 people.

They will also be given a tour of Jimmy's resettlement centre; watch a drama, music and dance presentation at The Manor School; and visit nearby Peterborough City Hospital.

Cambridge residents have waited more than 18 months for a visit from the couple.

Councillor Rob Dryden told the Cambridge News: "At last they are coming and they will be given a very warm welcome.

"A lot of residents in Cambridge have been waiting for this and it is right they should come to the city they are named after. It should be a great day."
