Phillip Schofield Given 'Disciplinary Action' For Handing David Cameron Paedophile List

Phillip Schofield Given 'Appropriate Disciplinary Action' For Paedo List Incident

Phillip Schofield has been the the subject of "appropriate disciplinary action" after handing David Cameron a list of alleged paedophiles live on This Morning last week.

The list, reportedly containing the names of senior Tories, was inadvertently flashed to the cameras forcing Schofield to apologise.

Cameron looked uncomfortable after being handed the list and warned against a "witch hunt" against gay people.

ITV released a statement saying: "Last Thursday we began an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the mistake on that day's This Morning programme, for which both Phillip Schofield and ITV apologised.

"This investigation has now concluded and the appropriate disciplinary action has been taken.

"We sincerely apologise because the way in which the issue was raised was clearly wrong and should have been handled differently. We have taken steps to make sure our editorial processes are always properly followed, which was not the case in this instance, and to ensure such an error will not be made again."

Broadcasting watchdog Ofcom said on Thursday that it was investigating the BBC’s Newsnight and ITV’s This Morning over complaints that “generally accepted standards” were breached.
