This is a photo to make you do a double-take. Can that really be a man riding a bike with a child on his SHOULDERS? Afraid so!
This act of stupidity gobsmacked a passer-by so much that that they took a photo of the 'accident waiting to happen' and handed it to the police.
Now officers are trying to track down the cyclist to give him such much-needed advice on road safety.
The passer-by told the BBC he 'could not believe' what he was seeing. And police warned the incident, photographed on Monday on Tamworth Road in Long Eaton, Derbyshire, was 'an accident waiting to happen'.
Inspector Ben Goodman of Derbyshire Police said: "Clearly this is very dangerous. There is a section of law that covers dangerous cycling where there is a risk of injury and there is a risk of injury to the child.
"It would only take a pothole or a gust of wind or a close-moving vehicle and it's an accident waiting to happen."
Anyone who knows the identity of the man is asked to contact Derbyshire Police.
