Escalating tensions in Gaza and Southern Israel have seen an increase in the number of attacks launched by both sides.

Huge explosions have been seen across Gaza as Israel targets militant rocket sites. The Israeli Defence Force has said that it hit more than 130 sites overnight.

Palestinian rockets fired at Israel have been reaching the cosmopolitan seaside city of Tel Aviv, the first time air raid sirens have been heard in the city since the 1991 Gulf War.

Around 11 rockets were fired overnight. Vapour trails in the sky traced the route of counter missiles fired from Israel's Iron Dome missile defence system.
