'Dancing On Ice': 'X Factor' Winner Shayne Ward Signs Up To Skate

Shayne Ward's Next Career Move

Former 'X Factor' winner Shayne Ward has reportedly signed up for 'Dancing On Ice'.

Ward is just another example of an 'X Factor' winner who was promised a huge recording career and has now found themselves back in the reality TV game.

The singer won the ITV1 talent show in 2005 and his first single, 'That's My Goal', became the last number one of 2005, hitting the top spot on 31 December. It sold 313,000 copies on its first day of sales, making it the third fastest-selling single of all time, behind Elton John's 'Candle in the Wind' and Will Young's 'Evergreen'.

However, Ward was dropped from his recording contract with Simon Cowell's Syco record label last year due to the lacklustre chart performance of his third album 'Obsession'.

Ward later responded to the label's decision on his Twitter profile writing: "1 door closed, A Thousand more will open."

He went on to appear in the musical 'Rock of Ages' and is rumoured to back working on his music now. A good time for a profile boost from a hit ITV reality show, then?

Other stars rumoured to be lined up for the new series include Pamela Anderson and 'TOWIE' star Lauren Goodger.

Meanwhile, Jason Gardiner is being tipped to make a return to 'Dancing On Ice'.

Louie Spence replaced the sharp-tongued judge in a shake-up of judges on the ITV1 skating show earlier this year.

Australian Jason, who famously described watching swimming champion Sharron Davies skate as looking at "faecal matter that won't flush", had been a judge since the show launched in 2006.
