Geoff Shreeves Tells It Like It Is To Rafael Benítez (VIDEO)

'That Was Absolutely Awful With All The Crowd Booing You'

Geoff Shreeves became a cult figure in April when his Grim Reaper act broke Branislav Ivanović's heart after the Chelsea defender was notified, absolutely, certainly, he would be out of the Champions League final. And Sky Sports' Death Eater was at it again on Sunday when he threatened new Blues boss Rafael Benítez's happiness.

What with managing Liverpool when their rivalry with Chelsea was at its most spiteful, Benítez is an unpopular choice to replace Roberto di Matteo at Stamford Bridge. The team's dreadful 0-0 draw with Manchester City on Sunday was memorable only for the mutiny as homemade signs and banners from the home section were as clear as Technicolor in their unhappiness at Rafa's return.

And that set up Shreeves for an open goal when he interviewed the Spaniard at full-time.

Following some innocuous questions about the performance in what was one of the most uneventful games televised live this season, Shreeves livened it up.

"That was absolutely awful with the crowd all booing you," he informed Benítez, who remained unflustered, saying he didn't hear them because he was concentrating on the game. But back game Shreeves.

"Even if you didn't hear it, I can tell you virtually the entire Chelsea crowd booed you and they were singing 'we don't want you here', this is going to be really difficult for you to turn this around."

"We will wait, we will see what will happen," Benítez diplomatically answered.

"But seriously, how do you go about it and how big a problem is it when you've got your own fans booing the manager?" Shreeves retorted.

Benítez this time aired a hint of irritation, shaking his head with his voice slightly loudening as Shreeves pestered, but he stuck to the script.

"Okay, having told you that..." Shreeves responded one final time to claim a 1-0 win for Interviewer against Interviewee.
