Man 'Finds Mother Jane MacDonald And Girlfriend Abby Hucknall' Dead At The Scene Of Road Accident In Scotland

Man 'Finds Girlfriend And Mother At Scene Of Fatal Crash'

A man went to the scene of a fatal road accident to find the victims were his mother and girlfriend, it has been reported.

Abby Hucknall, 18, and Jane MacDonald, 37, from Kirkcaldy, Fife, were on the B981 Dunnikier Way road close to the town's Asda superstore when they were knocked down and killed last night.

Tributes have been paid to the teenager, who has been described as a "bubbly, caring and beautiful girl".

Miss Hucknall was reportedly the girlfriend of Mrs MacDonald's son.

An off-duty nurse has told how she tried to console him at the scene of the incident.

Sam Clark told STV News: "I just got out of my car, phoned the ambulance service, tried to help the lady with CPR and tried to help the son who was there as well, as he was really upset.

"It was his mum and his girlfriend, so when he arrived he was extremely upset.

"I was just trying to calm him down."

The two women were hit by a black Land Rover at about 6.30pm. The driver was not injured.

In a statement released through Fife Constabulary, Miss Hucknall's family said: "Abby's family are devastated by this tragic loss.

"She was a very bubbly, caring and beautiful girl, a much-loved daughter, sister and granddaughter who will be sorely missed by all who knew her."

Police said the road was closed overnight while the vehicle was recovered and a crash investigation carried out. It has since reopened.

Officers want to speak to anyone who may have seen the Land Rover or the two women in the moments before the crash.

They did not comment on the relationship between the victims this evening.
