Tom Cruise and Robert Duvall attended the Manchester derby on Sunday but firstly had to negotiate the tricky task of a Geoff Shreeves interview.
Shreeves, you will recall, has form for telling it like it is after he clarified not once, but twice, with Branislav Ivanović he was definitely, certainly out of the Champions League final.
And recently he emphasised just how bad Rafael Benítez's reception from Chelsea fans was to, well, Rafael Benítez. Cruise, a scientologist and three-time divorcée, could have been in for a rough ride.
However it was very cordial stuff as Sky Sports continued its coverage's cringing Americanisation. Cruise, who wore Maverick-like aviators when the sun was not out (he can't handle the truth), was his usual polite self while Duvall, a renowned football fan, told of how great a character the former Celtic winger Jimmy 'Jinky' Johnstone was.
Despite Duvall's apparent footballing knowledge, he ended the interview asking if there would be a shootout...
