Now, zoo visits aren't always quiet, mutually respectful affairs between man and beast - as this poor fella can testify.
So we were particularly heartened to see the super-cute 20-second video above of a little boy called Ryan meeting a beaver at Oregon Zoo. Note how the pair seem genuinely pleased to see one another and wave politely, showing no sign of tiring. See? Manners cost nothing.
Of course, everyone loves waving at beavers. But we also enjoy waving at bears, too...
