When we've featured photorealistic drawings in the past on HuffPost Culture, it's proven surprisingly divisive.
To some people, the idea of reproducing a photograph by paint or pencil so that you can barely tell the two apart is pointless: why not just look at the photo?
For others, the lack of imagination is made up for by the awesome display of skill, technique and patience it takes to produce a genuinely photorealistic image. Look at it this way: all it would take is the slightest imperfection to shatter the illusion.
Looking at Diego Koi's handiwork - the result of over 200 hours of painstaking work - we find ourselves falling into the latter category.
Called 'Sensation', the Italian claims to have received thousands of emails from people astonished by his black and white image of a woman.
Koi's work has proved popular enough to secure news exhibitions in Italy and Singapore in 2013.
