Chelsea eased into the Club World Cup final after they defeated Mexican side Monterrey 3-1 in Yokohama.

Juan Mata opened the scoring on 17 minutes and although Fernando Torres will hope to have claimed his fifth goal in eight days, his deflected shot which doubled the lead was going wide.

A Darvin Chavez own goal - the second of the game - made it three before Aldo de Nigris netted a consolation.

The Blues will now face Brazilian side Corinthians in Sunday's final and should they defeat the Copa Libertadores winners they will become the second English side to win the tournament after Manchester United did so in 2008.
