Exeter University Student Loses Game Of 'Fives' And Has To Go On Return 16-Hour Trip To Edinburgh

Student Takes 16-Hour Round Trip To Edinburgh..

Most student forfeits involve stripping naked or downing pints but one undergraduate went further than the rest when he lost a game of fives and went on a return trip to Edinburgh.

Doesn't sound too bad, does it? Except this fresher actually lives in Exeter. So that's a mere 16-hour round trip then.

Ben Sully, right, seconds before he lost the fateful game of fives

Despite the mind-bogglingly futileness of such a journey, Exeter University hockey club player Ben Sully undertook his challenge with gusto. The student left Exeter St David's on the 8.23am train and didn't touch base back home until nearly one o'clock the next morning.

Luckily, student paper the Exeter Tab documented Sully's pilgrimage, which saw him greet at Edinburgh station by the city's university hockey players, so we can all applaud his expedition.

What a trooper.
