Gradiente's 'iphone' Runs Google's Android OS

There's A New 'iphone' - And It Runs Android

A Brazilian company has risked inciting the rage of the world's biggest technology firm by releasing its own 'iphone'.

That's not a typo, Apple fans.

While the California-based company's iPhone has become one of the most transformative and biggest-selling gadgets in history, in Brazil another company (IGB Eletrônica SA, trading under the name 'Gradiente') owns the 'G Gradiente iphone' trademark (with a small p).

Their new Android Gradiente iphone Neo One GC 500 is an entirely separate device from Apple's uniquitous phone, and lacks both the graceful looks and the current OS of many competitors.

What it does have is a 3.7-inch touchscreen display with 320 x 480 pixels. *Cough*. Not quiet a Retina display, then.

It also costs 599 Brazilian Reais (or aboutt $286 US) - pretty expensive when compared to competing devices (including those with a very similar name...)

Still, if you want a piece of history that is potentially doomed to be the focus of a lengthy legal battle, get yourself to Brazil.
