Boris Johnson Uses Telegraph Column To Declare 50 Shades Of Grey And Gangnam Style 'Culture Highlights Of 2012'

Boris Picks His Cultural Highlights Of 2012: 50 Shades And Gangnam

Boris Johnson has used his column in The Telegraph to announce his cultural highlights of 2012: 50 Shades Of Grey and Gangnam Style.

And for all his tongue is where it can usually be found - wedged into his cheek like a Christmas spud - the London Mayor makes a fairly compelling case.

Describing the Mummy porn phenomenon and the Psy number one as "the twin peaks - the Everest and Annapurna of this year's artistic achievement", he goes on to argue that both "have exposed things we never dreamt of about the way the world really is".

While 50 Shades has helped transform the nation's sex life, Psy has taught us that "Koreans are so darned clever that not only can they make cheap and efficient cars. They can also make number one smash hits."

Johnson goes on to say: "He [Psy] has taken the image of his country and done it a power of good. The whole planet now knows about K-pop".

So there you have it, Boris Johnson: a true man of the people. Just don't tell anyone on the London 2012 Festival committee.
