Liam Payne Comforted Tom Daley Over Online Abuse

Liam Payne and Tom Daley's bromance was ignited when the singer supported the diving heartthrob after he was targeted by vicious online taunts slamming his performance at the Olympics.

The One Direction star proved he has a heart of gold when he called Tom up to to comfort him after a Twitter troll laid into the athlete.

Tom tells the Daily Star: "I'm really good mates with Liam - we actually became mates after the Twitter thing when that guy gave me abuse. He called me up and told me not to let it bother me, which was really supportive of him."

The genetically-blessed pair love nothing more than to throw a few shapes on the dance floor or even cosy up for a bromantic dinner for two.

Tom adds: "Since then we've become close mates and usually on a typical boys' night, you'll find him and me down at (nightclub) Funky Buddha having a few drinks and a dance. Either that or we’ll go for a Chinese or a Wagamama.”
