Jesus Would Be On Twitter & Facebook, Says Archbishop Robert Zollitsch

If Jesus Was Alive, He'd Totally Follow You On Twitter & Friend You On Facebook

If Jesus were around today, he would most certainly be on Facebook and Twitter, a German Archbishop insists.

Freiburg Archbishop Robert Zollitsch, who is chairman of the German Bishops' Conference made the comments as he praised social media in an interview with Ruhr Nachrichten newspaper.

He said: "Jesus would certainly today be on Facebook and Twitter.

Big on social media: If Jesus were alive, he'd be all over Facebook and Twitter, a German Archbishop has said

"He was always looking for people, and took unusual routes to do this. Fundamentally all media are suited to bring the word of God to the people."

Zollitsch also looks like he'll be putting his money where his mouth is, adding: "Perhaps I will set up a personal account too."

This month Pope Benedict XVI joined Twitter as Pontifex. Each tweet is approved by the Pope himself (though composed by his attendants, so he won't be responsible for any typos.)
