Mel Greig And Michael Christian Not Interviewed By Scotland Yard Over Jacintha Saldanha's Suicide

DJs Not Interviewed By Scotland Yard Following Jacintha Saldanha's Suicide

Mel Greig and Michael Christian, the two DJs at the centre of the Jacintha Saldanha suicide storm, have not been interviewed by Scotland Yard, according to New South Wales Police.

Saldanha, 46, was found hanged at her home three days after a prank call to the King Edward VII Hospital where she worked hoaxed staff into passing on information about the Duchess of Cambridge who was being treated there at the time for morning sickness.

Saldanha put the initial call through to a colleague who offered private information on Kate Middleton’s condition to the Australians.

Following the suicide, the DJs were taken off air indefinitely and, despite making public apologies over the call, received a barrage of abuse over their supposed complicity in the nurse's death.

According to NSW Deputy Police Commissioner Nick Kaldas, British police had asked for no more information regarding the DJs since Saldanha’s suicide.

"There was some initial contact after the death of Jacintha Saldanha but not a lot since and because of the passage of time we believe it is unlikely any charges will be laid," he said.

The nurse was buried in India last week.
